Waikiki condo complex proposed for Namahana
A high-rise condominium is planned at the corner of Namahana Street and Ala Wai Boulevard. This comes on the heels of the announcement of a 350-foot tower proposed in the Hobron area.
Nichiei USA Inc. is proposing a 208-foot condominium complex on a half-acre lot to be called the Royal Kahili Tower.
Kusao & Kuahashi Inc., planning and zoning consultants, presented plans for both projects to the Waikiki Neighborhood board Tuesday night.
But the second project got little attention compared to the hubbub surrounding the 350-foot -- or 37-story -- high-rise luxury tower proposed for Hobron.
With a driveway accessible from Namahana Street, the six-story complex is expected to offer 26 units, along with a swimming pool, recreation room and utility room. It will be next door to the Royal Garden Hotel.
Parking stalls will take up floors two through four while the rest of the tower will be residential.
Construction is expected to begin in June and take anywhere from 12 to 18 months.
